Several newer vehicles come equipped with ABS-based learning, for the TPMS system. For example, certain models from these makes: Chrysler, Ford, GM, Hyundai/Kia, Mazda, Nissan & Toyota.
The systems utilize data from both the TPMS sensors and from the ABS system (wheel-speed sensors) when auto-learning and auto-locating sensors. The advantage is that the vehicles can automatically learn new sensors without the need for LF-initiators in each wheel well, but the tire sensors must send precise data so that it can be compared to the information from the wheel-speed sensors.
The firmwares for Sens.it RS+ sensors undergo a through design & validation process to ensure compatibility with vehicle TPMS systems that utilize ABS data.
